I Am Michael Watcher Issue # 1 “Deathly Body Art.”

Luqas Cohen is a world of trouble. If you’ve read issue one, then you pretty much already know that two weeks of his life is missing, he has this really funky/grisly tattoo on his abdomen that reads, “I Am Michael Watcher,” and there have been a couple of murders while he’s been missing from his academy (school) and all of the victims carry the same tattoo! But to top it all off, the latest victim, is his best friend’s roommate and LUQAS JUST FOUND HER I.D. CARD IN HIS POCKET!!!

There are several things that are going on in this story, but it’s clear that this is a mystery from the beginning. Luqas is undoubtedly [our] protagonist here. This story kind of follows him but only in the sense of keeping up with how he is connected to all of the unknowns. Luqas is [our] primary catalyst for launching and moving this story along. [We] really want the readers to buy into this world where a sixteen year old boy that’s off at boarding school and his friends are thrust into the midst of a murder mystery that is rabbit hole deep. It’s not just about Luqas, as the readers will later find out, but it’s about the identities of all the characters as [we] go on this journey of discovering “Who is Michael Watcher?” Moreover, this comic book series, as the first issue introduces, is about identities and who people really are. There are layers to people — they have pasts and histories that are hidden sometimes or even just avoided and exactly how much of that affect the present?

I Am Michael Watcher Issue # 1 is meant to prompt readers to have questions. No one should finish reading the comic without saying or thinking, “What the heck is going on?…” or “Who is Michael Watcher?”… or “Why is the one girl [Carlee Archee] dead and Luqas is alive when they both have the same tattoo?” Those are just some of the questions that could be asked by the end of the first book, but it’s all to get the reader to wonder, ponder, even speculate. The awesome thing is that once [you] are on this ride, [you] have the pleasure of knowing that there is an end. [We] are not going to string you along for 100 issues or even 50. I Am Michael Watcher has a specific and timed ending… Eighteen (18) issues until all questions are answered… But hey, you will know who Michael Watcher is by issue# 6.

Issue # 2 will be out at the end of January so in between now and that time, please post a question or comment and [we] will add it to the Letters Page at the end of Issue # 2 with [our] response. Looking forward to taking this journey of discovery with you guys! Image.
